VoluMill toolpaths produce the highest material removal rates
and lowest amount of tool wear.
Short cycle times and
increased tool life result in the lowest costs for bulk material removal.
How much time and money do you spend on bulk material removal?
Whether you’re in aerospace, automotive, or the tool and die industry, your rough milling costs represent up to 70% of the total machining costs. VoluMill toolpaths will dramatically reduce these costs and is the first material removal strategy with no limitations; its effectiveness does not vary or diminish with part complexity. VoluMill toolpaths establish and maintain ideal machining conditions throughout the roughing process, enabling your machine tools and cutting tools to operate safely and efficiently to their full capabilities.
Reduce Cycle Times up to 80% - Reduce programming times up to 50% - Increase Cutting Tool Life up to 500%
GETTING STARTED WITH VOLUMILL
SOME ACTUAL CUSTOMER RESULTS
Follow these guidelines to get started with VoluMill on any part or any material.
SFM (SMM): DOUBLE, or even TRIPLE, the cutting tool manufacturer's recommendation. Adjust from there (likely upwards).
ADOC: Set to whatever the part or flute length allows.
RDOC: 6% for harder materials, 40% for softer materials – interpolate for other grades.
When you make adjustments let tool-life or cycle-time priority be your guide.

"Our goal was to push the limits of the VoluMill toolpath solution. Instead, we found the limits of the machines - that was completely unexpected" - VoluMill User
Optima - See how they dramatically reduced their cycle time and extended cutting tool life in Inconel and Titanium. Payback for their purchase of VoluMill was less than 1 Month and they are adding more seats.

VoluMill is an Ultra High-Performance Toolpath plug-in engine for high speed milling that can be used with any CAM system. It handles any geometry, is easy to use, and outperforms all other toolpath technologies. Using VoluMill in place of traditional, trochoidal, engagement controlled or other "high-speed milling" roughing routines will reduce your programming and cycle times, extend the life of your cutting tools, and place considerably less stress on your machine tools. VoluMill provides these benefits by fully utilizing the capabilities of modern milling hardware. It plans the toolpath based on the capabilities of the machine and cutting tools, regardless of the shape being cut. Find out more.
